Pledge contract

In a pledge contract (Rahn) a borrower/debtor provides a corporeal property to his creditor as a security. However, there are many cases when a debtor is reluctant to return the debt even if he is financially able to do so. Eventually, a creditor, after a number of unsuccessful attempts to get his money from the debtor, decides to benefit from the pledged property until the debtor returns his money. Analyse the procrastination of the debtor and the decision of the creditor by proposing the best solution from Sharīʿah perspective.
